OMGN Width Expanded
OMGN expands to 1024x768-compatible width
2:58pm, April 1, 2006
Since we released our recent website design upgrade, we've been getting a lot of positive feedback from many of our readers. However, we also received feedback with plenty of suggestions and ideas for OMGN.

The most prevalent question our readers came up with was in regards to the website's width. Almost all of our readers use 1024x768 width for their resolution, so many wondered why we didn't take the opportunity to expand OMGN to use more screen space.

Well, we've listened to this and a few other suggestions, because now we're rolling out OMGN v3.2. We've increased our width to be compatible with the prevalent 1024x768 resolution.

Because we've expanded our width, we have additional space to work with on the site. Thus, we've introduced what we like to call the "leftbar." We will now run specialized content on the left side of the website (With the exception of the Home page). This leftbar is currently a standard set of information for each page type, but over time we plan to make unique ones for News, Reviews, the Games Directory and more. We feel with so much content available on OMGN, we need to find additional ways of getting it out to our readers.

We've also done a slight amount of redesigning on the new width. We've made the main navigation better and have cleaned up a few images that weren't very good. We've made a few other good images even better, and have modified the layout of a few items to better use our new width.

We've also added a new 180x150 banner type in OMGbN that we will be running in the leftbar for awhile.

We hope you enjoy the expanded OMGN!
