SOMERSET PATRIOTS INDIVIDUAL TICKETS GO ON SALE ON MARCH 12TH
The Somerset Patriots have announced that Opening Day of Individual Ticket Sales for the 2005 season will be held at Commerce Bank Ballpark on Saturday, March 12th from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
The Patriots will host a collection event for Operation Shoebox: New Jersey 2005 and a special appearance by the Easter Bunny for young fans to enjoy.
The Easter Bunny will join Sparkee The Mascot at the ballpark from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Any fan that brings an item for Operation Shoebox: New Jersey 2005 on March 12th will receive a special Buy One Get One Free ticket offer on any Sunday through Thursday game all season long. Fans that bring an itemwill also receive 25% off in the Somerset Patriots Gift Shop.
The Patriots will provide complimentary food and beverages, music courtesy of the Patriots Flagship Station WCTC 1450 AM/ Magic 98.3 FM, and the Speed Pitch will be set up for different contests.
Tickets for all 70 home games will be available at the ballpark. Somerset Patriots ticket prices are $12.00 for Executive Field Box Seats, $9.50 for Field Box seats, $8.50 for Upper Box seats, and $5.00 for Lawn Seating. Game times for the 2005 season are 7:05 pm Monday through Saturday and 1:35 pm on Sundays.
The Patriots will host 12 fireworks shows, different promotional nights, and theme nights to assure that there will be something happening at the ballpark for all 70 games.

OPERATION SHOEBOX: NEW JERSEY 2005 LAUNCHED IN CENTRAL NEW JERSEY
The Somerset Patriots are among a broad-based network of organizations and volunteers that have joined together to form Operation Shoebox: New Jersey 2005 to support United States armed forces personnel deployed overseas as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Operation Shoebox: New Jersey 2005 has been created to build and maintain a supply line of personal items to be shipped to soldiers overseas. Materials collected will be divided between soldiers in 250th Signal Battalion, 42nd Infantry and soldiers designated for delivery by the United States Marine Corps Reserves.
The organization is in the process of setting up a fund for monetary donations that can be usedto pay for the needed items and shipment of the care packages. Checks can be made out to American Recreational Military Services (ARMS) with the words “To Benefit Operation Shoe Box: New Jersey 2005” in the memo line of the check.
Items for Operation Shoe Box: New Jersey 2005 collection events:
Sun screen, paper back books, foot powder, telephone calling cards, eye drops, beef jerky, toothpaste, mouth wash, bug spray, lip balm, feminine products, ear swabs, laundry detergent, bug wipes/ bug strips, wipes (travel size), razors, toilet paper, spices, tea bags, coffee, small drink mixes, socks, clothesline/ pins, snack foods, cereal/ protein bars, fleece blankets, microwaveable foods (can or box), hard candy/ gum, writing materials, and batteries (any size).

SOMERSET PATRIOTS PLAYERS SIGNED BY MAJOR LEAGUE ORGANIZATIONS
Jeff Nettles, an All-Star third baseman for the Somerset Patriots for the past two seasons, has been signed by the Kansas City Royals organization. Nettles finished the 2004 season with a .319 batting average, 145 hits, 23 doubles, 22 home runs, and 93 RBI in 123 games for Somerset.
Cam Smith, a right-handed pitcher, has been signed by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays organization. Smith finished the 2004 season with a 7-4 record, a 4.32 ERA, and 101 strikeouts in 91.2 innings pitched in 16 games.
Catcher Manny Santana has been signed by the Anaheim Angels organization. He finished the 2004 season with 60 hits, 20 doubles, five home runs, and 36 RBI in 82 games played.
Catcher Robinson Cancel,has been signed by the Chicago Cubs organization. He was part of the Patriots 2003 Championship team.
All four players have signed minor league contracts and have been invited to spring training with their respective teams.

SOMERSET PATRIOTS WILL HOST NATIONAL ANTHEM AUDITIONS AT BRIDGEWATER COMMONS ON SATURDAY, MARCH 5TH
The Somerset Patriots will host National Anthem auditions at Bridgewater Commons on Saturday, March 5th from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
The Patriots will audition the first 100 people that sign up through the team’s office by calling Matt Rothenberg, Community Relations Manager, at (908) 252-0700 ext. 210 or e-mail at mrothenberg@somersetpatriots.com.
The event will take place at Center Court on the lower level of Bridgewater Commons.
In addition to the National Anthem auditions, the event will include a special collection event for Operation Shoebox: New Jersey 2005.
Magic 98.3 FM/ WCTC 1450 AM will be at the event to provide an emcee, music, and entertainment.
This is the second time the Patriots will be hosting National Anthemauditions at a location outside Commerce Bank Ballpark.
