E3: ISI Teams With Intel for F1 Title
Image Space Incorporated and Intel to bring aims for the ultimate racing game for PC
LOS ANGELES - Image Space Incorporated teams up with Intel to bring a new F1 racing experience to new Intel-based PCs in rFactor.
Image Space Incorporated (ISI) announced it has designed a game that will bring the Formula One racing experience to PC gamers with rFactor. The customized racing simulation premiered at the BMW Sauber F1 Team Pit Lane Park event at the European Grand Prix in Nürburgring, Germany on May 7, and has also been showcased at E3 this week.
Intel, the official corporate partner of BMW Sauber F1 Team, worked with ISI to turn rFactor racing simulation into a game, and will demonstrate the game on systems sporting the recently announced Intel Core 2 Duo processor at BMW Sauber F1 Team Pit Lane Park events throughout the F1 racing season. ISI’s pedigree in racing simulation includes the F1, F1 Challenge and NASCAR Thunder game franchises.
"The combination of Image Space’s long track record in racing simulation expertise and the processing power of our Intel Core 2 Duo processor will give users the ultimate racing experience on their PC,” said Ann Lewnes, Vice President and Director, Partner Marketing Group at Intel. “rFactor is a great example of our shared vision with the BMW Sauber F1 Team to bring F1 fans even closer to the sport and the team.”
rFactor harnesses the power of Intel Core 2 Duo processor, Intel’s latest dual-core processor technology due out in the middle of the year. These processors will be built on Intel’s advanced 65 nanometer design and manufacturing process technology that shrinks a processor’s circuitry and transistors. This combination will deliver higher-performing yet more energy-efficient processors that in hopes will spur more capable, stylish, silent and smaller mobile and desktop PCs while saving on electricity usage.
