Dark Horse Pony Express, December 2000
By: Charles Rector | Newsletter | 5:39pm, December 30, 2009 Pony Express for December 2009

If you have trouble reading this email, please see the online version:

Welcome to the Dark Horse Newsletter!

Chances are you’ve already heard about our comics being available for download on iTunes. But did you know we’ve recently expanded our offering to include: Hellboy: Seed of Destruction, Umbrella Academy: Apocalypse Suite, Star Wars: Clone Wars, Legacy Vol. 2, The Force Unleashed and Resurrection? You can find out more on our mobile page.

We’ve also released several new additions to our popular line of GelaSkins! We’re pleased to announce that the first designs featuring the original art and characters of director and artist Tim Burton are available now, as well as a selection of sleek and sexy Bettie Page skins!

Looking ahead to 2010 we’ve got quite a year already planned. Hitting next month we've got a brand new Aliens vs. Predator series, as well as the launch of Mass Effect: Redemption which tells a pivotal chapter in the story of the blockbuster sci-fi epic game: Mass Effect 2.

He’s back! The Terminator returns to DH with Zach Whedon assuming writing duties (always two Whedons there are), interior art by Andy McDonald, and featuring stunning covers by Massimo Carnevale.

You’ve all been asking, “Who is Twilight, really”? Well, you’re just going to have to read acclaimed novelist and comics writer Brad Meltzer’s run on Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 8 beginning with issue 32 in February to find out for yourself (hint: although there has been much speculation that it is indeed Buffy editor Scott Allie, I can honestly say that it’s not . . . or is it?).

Comics legend Jim Shooter comes to DH as head writer for the re-launch and re-imagined Gold Key Comics characters: Turok, Son of Stone, Doctor Solar, Man of the Atom, Magnus: Robot Fighter, and Mighty Samson. Look for the Free Comic Book Day offering of Dr. Solar/Magnus on May 1, 2010 which kicks off this incredible publishing program!

And coming in July, Janet Evanovich, the New York Times #1 best-selling author of Finger Lickin' Fifteen, brings Alexandra Barnaby and Sam Hooker, from the hit Barnaby novels Metro Girl and Motor Mouth, to Dark Horse Comics, with her debut graphic novel -- Troublemaker!

But wait a second, do you have any new Hellboy, you ask? Check! How about Star Wars? Now, have we ever let you down? Conan? Yes indeed! You got CLAMP? You better believe we've got CLAMP!

. . . And that's just the begining! We've got plenty of other new products, new stories, new apps, and many more new surprises with every page turn!

Best wishes to all and have a safe and Happy New Year!

====A Special Thanks to a Special Talent By David Scroggy====

Few creators have had more of an impact on today’s popular culture than writer/artist/director Tim Burton. His influence has permeated film, fashion, and graphic design. Therefore, it is quite fitting that the prestigious Museum of Modern Art in New York is honoring Burton with a career retrospective.
