Hello! And Happy New Year!

Would you like to take your game development venture to the next level?  Register to be an event Speaker at the 2nd annual Christian Game Developers Conference Winter Retreat. http://cgdc.org  Double your exposure by Sponsoring the event as well!  The 2010 CGDC Winter Retreat is set for February 25-27th to be held once again at the popular 5 Rock Ranch site in the Cascade mountains near Yamhill, Oregon.

There are several opportunities for recognition at the CGDC Winter Retreat 2010.

*Speakers
*Sponsors
*Volunteers
*Demo Booths
*and of course your physical attendance is a great opportunity for networking as well!

We would love to have you attend, regardless of your participation level. Sponsors enjoy special benefits, including extra signs hung up featuring your company logo, an electronic banner displayed on the CGDC website, and recognition in the conference printed program.

This is an elite opportunity to get away from the stress of daily life, experience the refreshing Oregon mountain air, network with other Christians who are passionate about making games, pray for our industry, and strategize about the coming year together.  We have a maximum capacity of 75 beds in 15 rooms of the bunkhouse on-site, and a total capacity of 170 people seated in the conference lodge.  The nearest hotels are about 30 minutes away in Newberg and McMinnville.  To secure your attendance for the Winter Retreat please register online today.  The registration deadline is February 10th, so don't wait too long!  The registration page is up on the http://cgdc.org website now and you can register online to pay now or pay at the site. A deposit of $20 is requested to hold your spot. Please keep a copy of your registration information for your personal reference.

As an extra special treat this year we have a senior Massage Therapy student attending who will be available to do chair massage for part of the conference. Please plan to tip for this luxurious service being offered.

Extra nights and extra meals may be purchased for an additional charge, for those who wish to arrive early or stay late, or both.  Pillows and linens are on all the beds. Please plan to bring your own towel and toiletries.  An airport transportation service is available also for $35 each way, please send your flight information to make these arrangements.  Any tips to the driver go to benefit the ministry to Fatherless Families at 5 Rock Ranch.

The event begins with a luncheon keynote address on Thursday, February 25th and goes through dinner Saturday, February 27th. Be aware that conversations following dinner on Saturday sometimes go as late as 10:00 pm if you want to stay for the last hours of networking.  The registration fee of $200 for adults ($110 for children) includes 8 meals, plus afternoon snacks all three days, and lodging for two nights (Thursday and Friday).  If someone is only able to attend for one day a discount rate of $100 can be applied.  Please contact Laurene Wells or Tim Emmerich for further information.

Be creative!  Bring your spouse and come a couple of days early for a private couple retreat.  Or bring the whole family for a quiet vacation in the mountains.  The Yamhill River flows through the property, and the property includes 105 acres bordering US Forest Service land with trails to explore. There is an outdoor amphitheatre near the lodge, down by the river. There is a horsback riding rental across the road at Flying M Ranch, for those who wish to make reservations with them.

NOTE: There is some talk of a possible Sunday excursion to go play in the snow on Mt. Hood for those who are interested.  Please note in the Comments section if this is of interest to you. We will determine what the cost of that might be depending on interest level and activities desired.

God bless you,
-Laurene Wells
CGDC 2010 Winter Retreat
Prayer Request

And we implore you to be in prayer.  Please pray for development teams that are struggling and for those that have product out that it finds some financial as well as spiritual success.

Pray that the winter retreat conference is a blessing to the attendees and to God!  And pray for safe travels for everyone.  Pray to see if God wants you there.

Mission
The mission of the Christian Game Developers Conference is three-fold:

First, to bring Christians involved in game development together in fellowship.
Second, to provide a chance to discuss topics relevant to game development.
Third, to pray for God to bless all aspects of the game development industry.

The Christian Game Developers Conference encompasses board, card, paper, video and computer game development.

Purpose
We are an international community of Christians with diverse interests in the game development process, glorifying God through the administration and application of our interests and abilities within the gaming industry.

Who is invited?
Anyone with an interest in all genres of game development or actively involved in such. It is not required that they be a Christian but it should be obvious that our perspective will be presented in that manner.
